Welcome to the web site of North Herefordshire Liberal DemocratsLucy Hurds stood as the Liberal Democrat candidate for North Herefordshire in the general election of May 2010. "I'd like to thank everyone who helped and supported my campaign, and I'd like to thank the thousands of people across North Herefordshire who gave me their votes" said Lucy. "I am continuing my work across our county and will be holding advice surgeries as normal." "I will carry on helping local people; working together to make sure that Herefordshire remains the place we are proud to call home. In these current difficult economic times, I feel that it is more important than ever that we work together as communities to help each other. I will be a strong local voice continuing to fight for fair funding for Herefordshire. We can stop government dictating development within our County and underfunding the needs of the area. Housing that can be afforded by local people is a necessity however this needs to be built in conjunction with improvements to local infrastructure to keep Herefordshire developing as our county not just another urban county. We need to allow some development in all our villages to make it possible for local families to be able to stay in their communities. I will work to make sure that our voices are listened to on this and other issues relating to our County. I will also continue to be available regularly for surgeries in all parts of the County as I strongly believe that the only way to properly represent people is to meet and listen to their views and needs. If you would like more information on myself or The Liberal Democrats, please call me on 07827 011611 or email me at lhurds@aol.com." Lucy Hurds. Recent updates
