Conservative-led Herefordshire Council set to axe schools across the county
Following the news on Friday 11 January that Conservative run Herefordshire Council are planning to close or amalgamate more than 30 schools in the Hereford and South Herefordshire constituency, causing massive disruption to families, staff and local communities, Lucy Hurds, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for North Herefordshire said,
"These school review proposals must not be allowed to continue. I will campaign alongside teachers, governors, parents and children and all interested parties to ensure that the proposals do not damage our children's education or our local communities."
"My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I are united across Herefordshire in fighting for the rights of Herefordshire families and the communities in which they live."
If you agree that we must fight the closure of rural schools, please sign up to our petition, located on this website's home page.
