Lucy Hurds, North Herefordshire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, has unveiled her new mobile advice surgery. To make it easier for people across North Herefordshire to get advice, help or a chance to have their say, Lucy and the Lib Dem team will be holding residents' surgeries across the area.
Working from the newly-reconditioned caravan, Lucy Hurds will hold regular advice sessions in towns and villages in the constituency. She hopes that this new service will give local residents more opportunities to get advice on dealing with council or government departments, housing associations and the many other issues that affect our area. "We're the third-largest constituency in England." said Lucy, "This makes it even more important that our MPs, candidates and councillors do everything they can to stay in touch with people. We'll be advertising in advance where our surgeries will be so that anyone who needs our help can come and see me."
The caravan to be used was found on the exchange website www.freecycle.org. The site aims to promote the exchange of items unwanted by their current owners, giving a way for useful items to stay in use, rather than being scrapped.
With advice surgeries being set up for Bromyard, Ledbury and Kington, more are planned throughout the year. For more information or for a list of future dates, call Lucy Hurds on (07827) 011611 or email on lhurds@aol.com.
